Texas Governor Rick Perry has set a special election date to fill a vacant State Senate seat. Senator Robert Duncan's District 28 seat was vacated after he resigned to serve as Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System.

Texas Governor Rick Perry has set a special election date to fill a vacant State Senate seat.

Senator Robert Duncan's District 28 seat was vacated after he resigned to serve as Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System.

Perry has set Tuesday, September 9, 2014 as the special Election Day.

The winner of the election will serve the remainder of Duncan's term that ends in 2017.
