ODESSA - The Music Program at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin has achieved accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Music.

The announcement was made on Wednesday.

The process is rigorous involving all music faculty, lengthy reports and an on campus site evaluation.

This accreditation means that U.T.P.B.'s Bachelor of Music degrees are of the highest quality and compares well to other programs across the country.

"An accreditation means that those students are attending a school that's watched very closely by the National Institution who enforces very high standards," Dr. Dan Keast, Associate Professor of Music at U.T.P.B., said.

U.T.P.B. is happy to see their preparation and hard work pay off.
