Two People Arrested in Connection With Robbery, Multiple Felonies at Odessa Liquor Store

ODESSA – Two people have been arrested in connection with a robbery and multiple felonies at an Odessa liquor store.

Odessa Police were called out to the 1900 block of East 8th Street on Saturday in reference to a disturbance that escalated into a robbery.

Officers made contact with the victim and she advised that a black female grabbed a bottle of vodka and left the store without paying for the item. The victim confronted the actor about the item and the suspect hit the victim in the back with the vodka bottle. The victim also told police, after being hit multiple times, that she saw a green Chevrolet Malibu leave the scene with another black female driving.

After officials issued an attempt to locate on the Malibu, the vehicle was spotted in the area of Electric and South Dixie and that the vehicle had been reported stolen. The vehicle, with two black females inside, tried to evade police with speeds of 80 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone. The Malibu eventually lost control and hit a barrier pole in the 700 block of Avenida De Mexico.

The two black females then took off on foot. Officers were able to catch both females and witnesses identified them as the suspects.

37-year-old Shavonna Gray has been charged with robbery, evading arrest or detention and theft of property and 47-year-old Rosie Ann Freeman was charged with robbery, evading in a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
