"We are actually forming a NORML chapter. To do that we need to get members who are like minded and interested in doing the same thing we're doing," Decker said.
Homemade Wines in Odessa has agreed to open their doors to help this group educate the public on the movement they feel so strongly about.
"We want to present them with some good information. Things that they might not of thought about. Answer any questions that they might have. We're going to be talking about the legislative part of it. There's 23 states already that legalized marijuana. Two more and that's 50% of the United States," Decker said.
Volunteers are needed to get the word out about the positive effects of marijuana.
"We're going to have street teams to go out and be involved in the community events. You're going to see us around town holding up signs that say honk for hemp-cannabis cures. Legalize Texas things of that nature. There have been zero deaths documented from marijuana use. It is not the gateway drug to harder drugs," Decker said.
Decker says education is key to the people of Texas. The gathering is free to the public. If you can't make it out on Saturday, you can visit them on Facebook or their website at www.genesis129.org.
"Not everyone can afford to just pick up and move across state lines especially if they have small children. You can't afford to just pick up and just leave," Decker said.
The meeting will be from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday at Homemade Wines in Odessa.
