ODESSA – An Odessa man and an Odessa woman are in custody following a robbery at a Dollar General on Tuesday afternoon.
We’re told 30-year-old Terrance Louis Jackson and 29-year-old Ivonne Lucero were charged.
Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9 that an investigation revealed that Lucero concealed some items in her purse and left the store without paying for them.
We’re told when a store employee confronted Lucero, she punched the employee in the face and Jackson helped Lucero by grabbing the employee and pushing Lucero out of the way.
The pair then left the story in a dark colored Chevrolet with three children in the vehicle.
Odessa Police later located the vehicle at 42nd Street and Andrews Highway with the same license plate that the store employee gave them.
Witnesses at the store came to the scene and positively identified Lucero and Jackson as the suspects who robbed the store.
Jackson gave police his name, however, Lucero gave a false name to police.
During the investigation, officers also found a small glass pipe and a bag of marijuana which were in the immediate reach of the three children. Officers also found another bag of marijuana in Jackson’s pocket.
Lucero has been charged with robbery, endangering a child and false identification to a peace officer while Jackson has been charged with robbery, endangering a child and possession of marijuana.
