The former Winkler County Attorney who was taken to court had a resentencing hearing on Tuesday.

Scott Tidwell will spend the next 10 years on probation and about four months in jail.

We're told he will be out on a work release after the first 30 days behind bars.

So he'll alternate weeks in jail and out until his time is up.

A Midland woman filed a legal malpractice suit against Tidwell after she fell and injured her shoulder.

The lawsuit accuses Tidwell of negligence, legal malpractice, gross negligence, deceptive trade practices and fraud.

He was also previously convicted of retaliation, misuse of official information and misdemeanor official oppression.
