Growing company brings on former International President of Hertz and Burger King, Fredy Dellis, to lead expansion in the UK, Europe and across the US as CEO
MIAMI, July 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- TheGenieLab, a team of web developers from Wales, are opening a new office in Miami, Florida on July 9th. The new office, in the Wynwood incubator campus The Lab, is a way to expand a further footprint into the US market where they have an already high-demand for their offerings.
The company, founded by Andrew Cargill and Daniel Lewis, is a team of 10 in the UK with clients across the World, ranging from startups to established multi-nationals; including Brightpearl, Flubit, NationBuilder, Trustev and Geysir.
Fredy Dellis is joining the team as the CEO and second investor alongside Alfred Gooding, a Welsh entrepreneur. Mr. Dellis has a long history in senior management, having previously served as President International at Hertz and Burger King as CEO of Europcar and ResidenSea, the developer and builder of the residential ship "The World" and more recently as CEO to a resort real estate company and South American cruise line companies. His wealth of leadership experience will be invaluable in helping to take the company to the next level. Fredy has dual USA / Belgium citizenship, now living in Miami, and has a rich educational background that includes Harvard Business School.
Chief Technical Officer, Andrew Cargill, has moved to Miami to launch the office, which is in the heart of Miami's Wynwood District. Two residents of South Florida have joined the team, making the US team 4 in total.
The company has established itself providing design and development of ecommerce shops, and building API (Application Programmer Interface) integrations that allow clients to link together software systems to speed up their processes, introduce automation and help them develop their businesses. It also offers Agile sprinting to clients that have complex needs for development and low resources to accomplish these projects.
These three core aspects of the business allows clients to engage a single development company to complete complex projects to link a new website into existing systems, and the demand for these services from US companies was the big reason for the expansion.
Expanding to Miami will also allow the team to offer greatly improved support hours for clients, stretching across time zones, both improving customer service and allowing the company to continue to grow. The ultimate ambition is to be able to provide 24 hour development services.
