Canadian residents who went missing near the Canadian River died of Drowning

Canadian, TX - We now know the cause of death for 7-year old Emily Purcell and 24-year old Marquita Medrano, who both went missing near the Canadian River two weeks ago.

Preliminary results show both victims died as a result of drowning.

Results also show Purcell's body had bruises on her arms and legs but did not indicate a cause.

Toxicology reports are expected in three to four weeks.
