PECOS - The City of Pecos is currently under a boil water notice.
We're told the water pressure dropped below 20 PSI and they are required by the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality to send out a boil water noticed.
The city recently approved a $500,000 purchase for the installation of insertion valves. One of the valves was installed on Wednesday and that was the reason for the water shut off and the low water pressure.
Officials are installing the valves so that in the future when repairs need to be made that water won't have to be shut off for the entire city.
Officials say the boil water notice will remain in effect until further notice.
