After a massive manhunt the suspected gunman in a Midland shooting has been caught. Border patrol agents caught him Monday evening and it didn't go down without a fight.

NewsWest 9 is told  48-year-old Carl Wayne Wiley was found in a stolen vehicle near the Comstock checkpoint on Monday.

Agents say Wiley fired at them but no one was hit and they were able to quickly take him into custody.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Saturday night in the 500 block of Clay Street.

That’s where officials found two gunshot victims.

41-year-old Latonya Anders died at the scene and 52 year-old Curtis Stinnett remains in critical condition.

Witnesses saw Wiley flee the scene in a white Ford truck that was later spotted by Border Patrol Agents in Sanderson and Wiley took off on foot.
