New Details Released in Connection With Home Invasion in Odessa

ODESSA - We're learning more details about a home invasion that took place last week in Odessa.

As NewsWest 9 reported on Friday, 19-year-old Quincy Allen Ervin was arrested on charges of burglary of a habitation.

As you may recall, Odessa Police were called out to the 2700 block of East 8th Street when a victim reported four black males entered the victim's apartment, took the victim at gunpoint and demanded that the victim lay face down on the floor while the men took items.

According to an arrest affidavit, Ervin went to the police department two days later and told detective that they were driving around the neighborhood and decided to rob the man they were going to buy marijuana from.

Ervin told police that he waited in the vehicle the men came in while the other men went up to the door. Ervin said that they became nervous and wanted to leave but he went to the front door where the other men pulled him inside the apartment and stood inside the apartment looking out while his friends.

Ervin also told police that they left the apartment and that he shouldn't have been in the apartment and should have left long before the burglary began.

Ervin is currently behind bars on a $150,000 bond at the Ector County Jail.
