Manhunt Underway Near Sanderson For Person Who Fled the Scene of Deadly Shooting in Midland

MIDLAND – A manhunt is underway near Sanderson for a man who fled the scene of a deadly shooting in Midland.

Police are looking for 48-year-old Carl Wayne Wiley who fled the scene in the 500 block of South Clay on Saturday night around 8:45 p.m.

Officials responded to the scene and found 41-year-old Latonya Lucille Anders dead at the scene and 52-year-old Curtis Ray Stinnett with life threatening injuries.

Stinnett is currently listed in critical condition at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Witnesses told police that Wiley left the scene in a white Ford truck and it was later discovered that Wiley fled Midland and was located by Border Patrol Agents in Sanderson.

We're told that Wiley led Border Patrol officials and law enforcement on a brief vehicle pursuit before fleeing from his vehicle on foot near a ranch approximately nine miles west of Sanderson.

Two warrants have been issued for Wiley for murder and attempted murder.

Wiley is considered armed and dangerous and a massive manhunt is underway near Sanderson.
