Big Lake Officials to Limit Fourth of July Fireworks to Designated Areas

Staff Report

NewsWest 9

People in Big Lake will be allowed to set off fireworks on the Fourth of July in designated areas only.

The Reagan County Commissioner's Court and Big Lake City Council have decided to have all fireworks directed to the North Reagan County Park.

A fire truck will be on standby if needed.

There is no county-wide burn ban in effect, but the commissioners have passed a resolution to ban certain types of fireworks in the county.

The city ordinance on fireworks will still be enforced.

No fireworks will be allowed in the city limits.
