Andrews Police Investigating Kidnapping/Murder of 21-Year-Old Man

ANDREWS - Andrews Police are investigating the kidnapping and murder of a 21-year-old man.

Andrews Police Chief Bud Jones tells NewsWest 9 that on June 17, 2014 a report was filed with police in reference to the possible kidnapping of a man who lived in the Northwest part of the city.

A missing person's report was filed, but during the investigation police received conflicting statements as to what happened to the victim. On June 23, 2014 information was received by the Andrews Police Department regarding the missing man.

The information led to the discovery of a body in Martin County by the Martin County Sheriff's Office. On June 24, 2014 a vehicle was impounded by Andrews Police Department. It's believed the vehicle was used to transport the man's body to Martin County.

The body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy. Police are not releasing the man's identity at this time. Based on the evidence, this is being carried as a homicide investigation.

Police say suspects have been identified and they anticipate that arrest warrants will be issued.
