Roswell Man Arrested For Ninth DWI

CHAVES COUNTY, N.M. – A Roswell, New Mexico, man has been arrested on his ninth DWI charge.

New Mexico State Police tell NewsWest 9, 53-year-old Michael Quiroz was arrested.

We're told that Quiroz was pulled over on Monday afternoon on New Mexico State Road 2, north of Dexter for speeding.

While the officer was talking with Quiroz, the officer observed clues that Quiroz might be under the influence of alcohol.

Field sobriety tests were conducted and determined that Quiroz was under the influence.

Quiroz was arrested and taken to Roswell where Quiroz underwent a breath test and his breath alcohol content was .24, which is three times the state legal limit.

Quiroz has been charged with driving with under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, driving on a revoked driver's license and speeding.

Quiroz is currently behind bars at the Chaves County Detention Center.
