HOWARD COUNTY - The Howard County Jail is starting to get crowded.
Sheriff Stan Parker told County Commissioners they're housing 84 inmates.
While they can hold up to 96, state law requires them to keep the population around 10 percent below capacity.
The county already has agreements with other counties for inmate housing.
But one of them is Mitchell County which is already having issues with housing their own prisoners.
Parker says his office is looking at overflow agreements with Lubbock, Garza and Scurry Counties as a precaution.
