Obama administration announces new immigration plan

Posted: Updated:
The Obama administration plans to spend millions of dollars to curb the flow of illegal children immigrants across the U.S.-Mexico border.

The plan includes $40 million dollars to Guatemala to improve security, $25 million to El Salvador to aid at-risk youth and a crime and violence prevention program, and $18.5 million to the Central American Regional Security Initiative in Honduras for crime and gang prevention efforts.

The funds will be used to reintegrate the deported immigrants and help keep them in their home countries.

The administration also plans to allocate $161.5 million dollars for the Central American Regional Security Initiative (CARSI) programs.
