ALPINE - A 42-year-old father of four is fighting for his life tonight after a hit and run driver left him laying in the road. Christopher Holguin was struck by a vehicle after leaving a bar on Avenue F early Saturday morning just after midnight. His sister, Anita Holguin, says he was a well-liked guy.

"He's a good guy, and a lot of people know him in town."

Holguin says she found out about the accident after police contacted Christopher's wife when a passerby reported the incident. Since then, Christopher has been recovering from major injuries in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the University Medical Center of El Paso.

"He could have died, and we don't even know if he's out of the woods yet."

Holguin could not believe that someone could do that to someone like Christopher.

"It's sad that my brother was pretty much hit and left for dead and nobody felt to help him."

Holguin says that all she wants is justice for her brother.

"Come forward. Go to the police department, any little help. Please help us."

If you have any information about the accident, please call Brewster County Crime Stoppers at 432-837-3333.
