ODESSA - Some big changes are coming to Permian High School in Odessa.
A special groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday.
They're making more room for freshmen who will move to the high school next year.
The athletic facility and the fine arts building will be expanded.
An academic wing will also be created along with moving the tennis court.
We're told these changes are much needed in the district because of the growth.
"Doing the addition at Odessa High, of course it's already started. Getting ready to start this. We've started the three elementaries that will be opening in 2015-2016 as well. So, it's an exciting time for Ector County ISD. There's more growth that has happened in a number of years. A lot of changes happening at the same time," Ector County ISD Superintendent, Tom Crowe, said.
Construction should be completed by the 2015-2016 school year.
