MIDLAND - Public servants in Midland are getting the chance to buy a home at half price.

It's part of the U.S. Department of House and Urban Development's "Good Neighbor Next Door" program.

The HUD-owned home, located at 405 Elm Avenue, is currently listed for about $190,000.

However, public servants in the Tall City including officers, teachers and firefighters can purchase the house for just $95,000.

The discount will be available to that group until noon on Tuesday.

If no one makes an offer, the home will go on the open market.

But if multiple people make bids, officials are planning to do a lottery drawing to determine who will get it.
