BIG SPRING - A Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring will be undergoing some big changes.

Officials from the Veterans Land Board have confirmed to NewsWest 9 that the operator for the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas Veterans Home has filed for bankruptcy.

Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez is among three Veterans Homes that are seeking Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

Officials say this is a voluntary corporate financial restructuring. They say it will not affect the residents in the home or the level of care provided.

The Board oversees the eight Texas State Veterans homes. The three homes included in the filing are all run by a single operator, the Sears Methodist Retirement System.

The other centers affected include McCallen and El Paso.

Anum Valliani will have the story on NewsWest 9 at 5, 6, and 10.
