MIDLAND - A Midland teen remains behind bars for having materials to make a bomb.
Just after 8 p.m. Monday night, officials responded to the 3500 block of Baumann.
When they got on the scene, they found a back pack with bomb making materials including spackling putty, candle wax, a hydrometer and an enameled steel container.
They also found instruction on how to make an explosive.
Authorities say the back pack with the materials belonged to 19-year-old Nathan Southerland.
He was arrested and charged with having components of an explosive.
Southerland is being held at the Midland County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
