MIDLAND - A teen is behind bars after authorities found materials to make explosives at a Midland home.
Midland Police tell NewsWest 9 that the Midland County Sheriff’s Office notified them around 8:15 p.m. Monday night about a situation involving possible explosives in the 3500 block of Baumann.
Sheriff’s Officials told Midland Police that 19-year-old Nathan Southerland appeared to have a recipe for a type of explosive with items that could be considered components of an explosive.
Midland Police Bomb Squad were called out and confirmed that the components were in the home.
Sutherland is currently being held at the Midland County Jail on charges of components of explosives.
Bond for Sutherland has not yet been set.
