MIDLAND - Congressman Mike Conaway made a stop at the NewsWest 9 studios on Monday.
One of the hot button topics was President Obama's decision to bring home Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl.
Bergdahl was held captive in Afghanistan for five years.
The president traded him for five high-level afghan detainees from the U.S. Prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
“Well, I think it was a bad move by the President to trade like that. That has now put a weapon in the hands of every terrorist group, every bad person out there who wants to try to do something on tour. They now know something that this administration at least will negotiate with bad people. We all wanted Bergdahl back but this seems to be a much higher price than we should've paid,” Conaway said.
In light of the resignation of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki, Conaway says they have a promise to protect and take care of our veterans.
