LOVINGTON, N.M. - The City of Lovington is looking to be more popular with businesses.
That's why city officials recently attended a conference to bring in more vendors.
Leaders flew out to Las Vegas in May in hopes of selling the city to interested business owners who want to expand.
They say this is the first time in recent years officials have tried this tactic, but they want to keep up with their growth.
“We want to try everything we can to let them know that Lovington is here, we are in Lea County. It is a booming economy and it would be a great place to open up a business here,” Lovington City Manager, James Williams, said.
Officials say they already have some leads on newcomers but it's still too early to call anything a done deal.
