81-year-old Francisco Benitez has been sentenced to 100 hours of community service and two years of probation for mutilating a cat.
Officials say Benitez was frustrated at neighbors for letting it roam into his yard and wanted to send a message.
So he reportedly chopped off its ears and tail.
Officials say Benitez admitted to the act and to killing others. Reports show a witness saw some dead felines hanging on Benitez's storage unit and even saw a pile of tails next on the ground nearby.
The cat, named Athena, has since been adopted out.
