ODESSA- This week we learned that the Phoenix VA hospital and the San Antonio VA hospital has been found doing wrongful doing when it comes to treating veterans in a timely fashion. A situation that cost many of them their lives. Local Vets feel the government needs to do the more for the those who served our country.

"They give their lives and everything. We're walking around crippled and everything, they need to help our Veterans man," Vietnam Vet, Tommy Luffman said.

Myrel Schoenhoff told us that he has to go to Albuquerque to get treatment for his agent orange because there isn't a facility close enough to help him.
He feels for the new vets more than he feels bad for himself. Through the tears he explains.

"A lot of the new Vets are getting kicked under the rug because they are not being taken care of," Vietnam Vet, Meryl Schoenhoff said

Iraqi Freedom Vet Jared Hodnatt believes there isn't enough knowledge about whats going on with VA hospitals.

"A lot of people in the public eye aren't aware of it. Of course we as Veterans are because we're involved. The facilities aren't built for what they need here, so they got to drive 8 to 10 hours out of their way just to get the help they need," Hodnatt said.

Veteran, Wayne Phillips is glad someone came forward and hopes the problem is fixed.

"I don't think it's to late. Of course what is done won't never be fixed, but they need to get somebody up there who knows what's going on. Vietnam Vet, Wayne Phillips said.
