ANDREWS- It's been almost two decades since Andrews has had a mayoral election. But after the passing of their long time leader, Bob Zap, they'll be electing a new Mayor on Saturday.

"Our Mayor Bob Zap left us a great example of leadership of what we should be doing," Andrews Mayoral Candidate, Flora Braly, said.
"I would hope to be like Bob. He could bring people together," Andrews Mayoral Candidate, Larry Brewer, said.

Larry Brewer and Flora Braly are the two candidates running in the mayoral elections in Andrews. Both of them hope to be the next big legacy for the small town.

"My platform has been let's just all come back together again so we can be Andrews again and I will work towards that," Brewer said.

"I'm very excited. I feel like I've worked hard. I know that I could continue the good work," Braly said.

Braly is hoping the numbers will come down in her favor Saturday. She said people should vote for her because of her 11 years of service in the City Council.

"I am very interested in continuing to serve and I will put my knowledge, experience and my heart of service to the community," Braly said.

However, Larry Brewer said he shouldn't be overlooked. He said he has experience too.

"Experience in life. There is more than one experience. I'm a lawyer. Even though I didn't practice law, I think that is a good attribute especially when you deal with governments," Brewer said.

But the candidates can agree on one thing. They both want the best for their community.

"Bringing good opportunities to Andrews and making sure it remains a quality community," Braly said.

"God bless Andrews!" Brewer said

Election day is Saturday.
