Firefighters battle blaze in North Amarillo

Posted: Updated:
Amarillo, TX -
The Amarillo Fire Department is looking into the cause of a blaze  in North Amarillo on Sunday evening.

Originally, the AFD reported the fire to be on Florida St. but, a late night updated release stated the blaze happened at 2712 W. Center Ave.

Just before 8:30 p.m. crews arrived on scene and started battling the fire on the west side of the duplex. No injuries were reported and officials believe the structure was abandoned at the time of the fire.

Witnesses say they saw two unidentified people leaving the back of the building before heading down an alley.

Fire officials are calling the cause of the blaze "undetermined." They say this is the second fire to happen at this location within the past year.

The AFD will continue to investigate this incident.
