Staff Report

ODESSA - The advisory board for the Ector County Medical Examiner's Office will meeting for the second time to discuss ways of improving the office.

The panel was created after a grand jury recommended that county commissioners take immediate action on fixing the office or getting rid of it.
The District Attorney said the medical examiner's office had failed to send for an autopsy that could have been important evidence in a case involving an infant.

Most recently they came under fire again in a case with a couple getting hit by a drunk driver last December. The couple's bodies were just exhumed last week and sent for an autopsy after a request of the Ector County District Attorney.

On Wednesday officials are just hoping to clarify roles and responsibilities among other things.
The closed door meeting will get underway at 1:30 at the Ector County Annex.
