DENVER (AP) - A state grand jury is hearing evidence about a bankrupt Colorado insurance company days after its CEO killed himself with a nail gun.

The Denver Post reported Thursday that the Arapahoe County coroner's office found that American Title Services CEO Richard Talley shot himself in the chest seven times with nails from a nail gun before firing a fatal nail into his head. Police found his body in his car in the garage of his Aurora home last month.

Court records show Title Resources Guaranty, the Dallas-based company for which American Title wrote policies, was to confront Talley about $2 million in missing escrow funds.
