NANTES, FRANCE - A working 19th century guillotine is expected to go for up to $83,000 on Thursday when it goes on auction in France.
The guillotine is synonymous with the French Revolution.
The auctioneer said this one was used by the army but didn't elaborate on what he meant.
It goes up for auction in the northern French city of Nantes.
The auctioneer said given its historical significance, he hopes it ends up on public display.
