ECTOR COUNTY - The Ector County District Attorney is trying to exhume two bodies.

It’s all so he can prosecute a case involving a fatal crash.

Carroll Carpenter is charged with murder and intoxication manslaughter.

Back in December, investigators say a pickup ran a red light on Highway 302 and 8th Street.

The pickup slammed into Carpenter's truck.

The two people inside the pickup both died in the crash.

Investigators say Carpenter was drunk which may have been a factor in the crash.

The district attorney hopes to get the bodies exhumed soon.

Apparently, an autopsy was not performed on them.

The district attorney says an autopsy is needed to prosecute a murder.

It had to be used to explain to the jury what caused their deaths.
