FORT STOCKTON – A new building for the Fort Stockton Police Department was discussed at a city council meeting on Monday night.

According to the Fort Stockton City Manager, they’re looking for property for placement of a new building.

We’re told that they have some preliminary design plans for the new building.

Funding is an item that is being discussed as the proposed design would cost $1.5 million.

The Police Department is currently housed in the old bank building that is 100 years old.

Officials say the next step will be figuring out how to budget the building for next year.
