Arrest Made In Murder Case From Four Years Ago

An arrest has been made in connection with a murder in Denver City that happened more than 4 years ago. Denver City Police confirmed to NewsWest 9 that Mario Romero was arrested in Chihuahua, Mexico. 

He's accused of killing his wife, 29-year-old Veronica Esquivel Romero.

 The murder happened back in October of  2009 inside a home on East 10th street.
     
Police say Romero then took off with the couples' 3-year-old son, Mitchell Romero and an amber alert was issued.

 In November of 2009 the little boy died in a rollover crash between Chihuahua and Ojinaga.

 According to a Mexican newspaper he was being returned to his father by his Aunt and Uncle when the crash happened.
