Amarillo Roman Catholic Diocese celebrate life

Posted: Updated:
Amarillo, TX -
Hundreds of people gathered at the Amarillo Civic Center Sunday afternoon to show their support for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Amarillo and it's mission to support life.

The annual Respect Life banquet was held on Sunday.

One of the goals is to introduce members of the community to what the ministry does, along with raising money to support and promote the groups "pro-life" mission.

We spoke with Father Anthony Nash about the many things the ministry does to better the community.

"The ministry itself does several things, it provides counseling and retreat activities for married or people preparing to enter marriage. It also works with high risk pregnancy and providing resources for women and families that are caught in situations that they did not anticipate," he told us.

The event was catered and there was also a silent auction to help raise money for programming and other counseling services for women.
