MIDLAND - A lockdown for two Midland schools has been lifted after officials were searching for a suspect.

Midland ISD Superintendent Dr. Ryder Warren tells NewsWest 9 that officials received a report that they saw a man walking away from Bonham Elementary School with a gun case.

Officials immediately responded to the area and placed Bonham Elementary School and Alamo Junior High under a lockdown as a precaution.

Police later found the man and officials say the case was a pool cue case and not a gun case.

The lockdown has since been lifted and the school day will continue as scheduled.
