MIDLAND - A Midland man got into trouble with the law for letting his son smoke marijuana in their home.

Officers were searching for a runaway child on Tuesday night when they went to a house in the 1300 block of Golf Course Road.

When Demetrio Natividad was asked about the missing kid, he told police that there were other children inside but the runaway was not among them.

He also said he didn't want officers speaking to the children because they were smoking weed.

Police went inside to talk to the kids and spotted a bong in a closet that Natividad said belonged to his son.

Natividad has been hit with felony child endangerment charges.

He has been released on bond.
