Hood Junior High to Remain Closed Until Monday, Classes to Take Place at New Tech Campus

ODESSA - Hood Junior High will remain closed through the rest of this week after students and staff were exposed to mercury on Tuesday morning.
Ector County ISD officials said in a press conference on Wednesday that the school will remain closed until at least Monday as an outside company works to clean up the school.
As far as the students, all students will report to Hood Junior High for class on Thursday and will be bussed to the New Tech Campus on Thursday and Friday.
Here is the bus schedule information for Hood Junior High Students:
Hood students who ride a bus to-and-from school each day will continue to do that and it will drop them at New Tech Odessa.
Hood students who walk to-and-from school each day will be provided bus transportation to New Tech Odessa from Hood. They need to be at Hood by 8:15 a.m. to catch the bus to New Tech Odessa; the afternoon bus will take them from New Tech Odessa back to Hood to walk home.
Parents who drop off their kids at Hood can drop them off at the far east entrance at New Tech Odessa (that is the door to the far left when facing the front of the school)
Sack lunches will be provided for the Hood students at New Tech Odessa as the cafeteria can't accommodate an additional 700 students.
Special Education students will attend Sam Houston Elementary for the next two days.
The Career & Technical Education classes that normally meet at New Tech Odessa will remain at Odessa High School and Permian High School. There will be no Career & Technical Education buses running to New Tech Odessa from Odessa High and Permian for the next two days.
