ODESSA - An Odessa police officer who was arrested for three felonies last week has been terminated by the Odessa Police Department.
The termination was announced in a press release to NewsWest 9 on Wednesday afternoon.
This all started back on March 10 when a citizen reported to Odessa Police that an officer conducted himself inappropriately during a traffic stop. Officials say an inquiry into the matter was quickly conducted and led them to Becerra.
The inquiry produced sufficient evidence for Police Chief Timothy Burton to order an administrative investigation into possible criminal conduct by Becerra.
Becerra is facing three charges: two counts of violations of the civil rights of a person in custody and improper sexual activity with a person in custody.
The criminal investigation is ongoing.
