ODESSA - New England Patriots offensive lineman and native Odessan, Marcus Cannon, came back to his hometown on Monday to talk to Odessa students.
He stopped by Hood Junior High to give a pep talk to the seventh grade football team.
He told the players that hard work and dedication can lead to your dreams.
Cannon told NewsWest 9 why speaking to students is important.
“Paying back to when I was here. Sometimes kids need to hear this stuff from someone who’s been there, done that,” cannon said.
Before dedicating his life to protect Tom Brady, Cannon was a student at Ector Jr. High and Odessa High before going to TCU.
