MIDLAND - The Genesis Center of the Permian Basin got a few helping hands this week.

About 50 kids from the high school program, "24-7 Journey" from Rockwall, Texas, came to help get the center ready to open their doors.

They cleaned, organized, did yard work and much more.

The Genesis Center is a one-year faith based rehab program for women and children who are homeless.

The center will have space for 100 people in need.

Their doors are expected to open on May first.
