HOBBS, N.M. - A Hobbs woman is behind bars for stealing thousands of dollars from the company she worked for.

32-year-old Patricia Garcia is accused of stealing a little more than $24,000 from Dr. Shoemakers on North Shipp Street.

Police say she did it by taking cash payments from patients, entering the transaction into the system and would delete the transaction.

An audit report for both 2012 and 2013 showed a pattern of cash entries being deleted.

Garcia was charged with embezzlement and is being held on a $75,000 bond.
