Officer Dragged by Vehicle in Roswell, Authorities Searching For Odessa Man

ROSWELL, N.M. – Roswell Police are searching for an Odessa man after an officer was dragged by a vehicle.

Roswell Police tell NewsWest 9 on Monday night around 10:20 p.m., an officer from the Roswell Police Department initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Third Street and Main Street.

The officer contacted the driver, who has been identified as 36-year-old Brian Rudloff from Odessa.

Rudloff was asked by the officer to exit the vehicle to conduct a field sobriety test. But before Rudloff got out of the car, he reached over as if he was grabbing something.

The officer grabbed Rudloff to stop him but Rudloff drove away, dragging the officer about 30 feet.

Rudloff fled the area and his vehicle was later located at a hotel. However, Rudloff was nowhere to be found.

Rudloff is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 5’9” tall, weighing 145 pounds. We’re told he has brown hair and brown eyes.
