HOBBS, N.M. - A Hobbs mother is in hot water after police say she was caught driving drunk with her child in the car.

Officers were called out to the area of North Dal Paso and East Navajo to a possible DWI around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

When they arrived, police found an unoccupied vehicle in the outside lane at the intersection of Joe Harvey and Lovington Highway.

Witnesses told police they saw 27-year-old Jenna Scheldorf get out, fall on the ground, get back up and walk with her four year old son to the curb.

Officers caught up with her and noticed that she seemed confused and couldn't keep her balance.

Scheldorf told police she had taken a medication that caused drowsiness.

At one point while she was interviewed, she fell on top of her child, who was later released to his father.

Scheldorf refused to take any sobriety tests.

She is currently behind bars.

Bond has been set at $12,000.
