Over $100,000 Seized at Presidio Port of Entry

PRESIDIO – Customs and Border Protection Officers and with Border Patrol agents seized a large amount of money on Thursday morning.

Officials tell NewsWest 9, the seizure was made around 10:15 a.m. Thursday when a 2004 Lincoln LS arrived at the outbound inspection station on the highway leaving from the U.S. for Mexico.

Customs and Border Protection Officials interviewed the driver and received a negative declaration for any currency in excess of $10,000.

The vehicle was selected for a secondary exam where they found 19 bundles of currency hidden with the speakers of a boxed sound bar system.

The driver, 26-year-old Jesus Antonio Baca, of Dallas, Texas, was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations agents to face charges.
