ODESSA - Two people are in federal custody after a long term investigation in reference to two Odessa businesses selling synthetic marijuana at their store.

The Odessa Police Department tells NewsWest 9, the two locations were Smoke Alley (previously located at 206 East 16th Street) and Urban City (previously located at 2406 North Dixie).

Officials learned through investigations that Jared William Roach owned Smoke Alley and Kelly Jay Duarte owned Urban City.

Both owners were indicted last week on charges of possession of controlled substances and controlled substance analogues with intent to distribute.

On Tuesday, Roach was located in Crane and taken into custody by Crane Police and the U.S. Marshals.

On Wednesday, Duarte began the process of turning himself over to the U.S. Marshals Office.

Both subjects are in federal custody and awaiting court proceedings.
