LONGVIEW, Texas (AP) - Six people have been hurt - two critically - in an East Texas house fire that authorities traced to the living room.
Longview Fire Marshal Johnny Zackary says the blaze was reported late Tuesday night. Authorities are trying to determine what sparked the fire that destroyed the two-story home.
The victims were treated for burns and smoke inhalation. Zackary says two people suffered cuts escaping through a window.
Investigators say a 41-year-old woman and a 2-month-old boy were critically hurt and transported to the burn unit of Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Three people were treated and released from a Longview hospital. Another person was hospitalized for observation.
Names of the injured and further details on their conditions weren't immediately released Wednesday.
Officials say two dogs died in the fire.
