Hobbs Man Accused of Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery

HOBBS, N.M.- A Hobbs man is behind bars after police say he kept his girlfriend against her will and beat her.

25-year-old Julian Hernandez has been charged with kidnapping, aggravated battery and resisting an officer.

This is after Hobbs police were told by the victim's father that the victim was being kept against her will and had been beaten with a shovel.

At Hernandez's residence, police separated Hernandez and the victim.

After talking to each of them, Hernandez was placed under arrest but refused.

Officers subdued him using a taser.

Hernandez remains behind bars on a $76,000 bond.
