MIDLAND - An Amarillo man is in hot water after attacking a Midland police officer.
Officers responded to North "A" Street where they found 25-year-old Pedro Mata.
Police say he was drunk and they could smell alcohol on him.
Mata was cuffed for public intoxication.
When he was being booked into jail, he became extremely irate and aggressive.
According to the affidavit, Mata hit an officer not once, but twice.
